Missouri law (§ 162.203, RSMo.) requires all school board members to receive 16 hours of training within their first 12 months of service. MSBA’s CBM Essential Board Member Training fulfills this requirement and provides the foundation for becoming an effective board member.

CBM Essential training is free for all new board members. Registration is required.

The training was interactive and provided a wealth of information to help me in understanding my role as a board member. My advice is to complete the training as soon as possible after being elected. – Alaina Hinze, Board Member, Jackson School District

CBM Essential new board member training is delivered in a blended format. Half of the training is provided online through a web-based application. As a new board member the CBM training that I received exceeded my expectations. I participated in the online training prior to the live training and believe this is the way to go. I felt prepared going into the live training and was excited to learn more. –Liz Glastetter, Board Member, Kelso C-7
