MSBA Medicaid Consortium

The Missouri School Boards’ Association (MSBA) is pleased to announce that it has established a Medicaid Consortium to provide support services allowing school districts to participate in School District Administrative Claiming (SDAC), Direct Service Billing, and Transportation Billing programs.

Since the launch of the MSBA Medicaid Consortium participation has grown to nearly 350 school districts. During that time and because of the strong participation, the program has generated tens of millions of federal dollars for schools throughout the state for services you are already providing to students. In these challenging times when schools remain under funded and families are in need of assistance to meet basic health needs of their children, the ability for schools to provide this assistance and receive this partial reimbursement is more critical than ever.

By accessing the information at the links on the Navigation box to the right, you will be able to:

  1. enroll your School District in the MSBA Medicaid Consortium for the SDAC, Direct Service Billing and/or Transportation billing programs;
  2. obtain important and current information on upcoming training opportunities, training materials, program materials, program manuals, and other resources for all of the programs we support; and
  3. obtain current updates from state and federal legislative action related to Medicaid.
Q. When can we start?
A. The next opportunity for a newly enrolled district to participate in SDAC claiming is Quarter 4 2009, which begins on October 1 and ends on December 31. A district may begin the process of direct services and transportation claiming upon enrolling with the MSBA Medicaid Consortium.
Q. Is there a fee to participate?
A. There is no out-of-pocket cost to the district. Set-up, software, and training are at no charge to the district. A contingency fee is assessed against any funds generated through claiming at the following rates:
MSBA Member Districts MSBA Non-Member Districts
SDAC 5.25% 5.5%
Direct Services 10% 11%
Transportation 10% 11%
