As you know, MSBA is governed by a Board of Directors. Each year, elections are held for Officers and members of the Associations' Board of Directors. The deadline for 2009 nominations is quickly approaching.
Nominations for MSBA President-Elect and Vice President must be faxed or postmarked no later than February 4, 2009. Both the nominating district and the Board of Education the nominated individual represents must be current members of MSBA.
After the nominations have been reviewed by the MSBA Nominating Committee, interviews with the officer candidates will be conducted. Following the interviews, the committee will determine the 2009 Statewide Officer Slate to be recommended to the MSBA Delegate Assembly when the Delegate Assembly meets on June 12, 2009 in Branson.

Nominations for MSBA Board of Director regional chairs (i.e. Governmental Relations or Leadership Development) must be faxed or postmarked no later than March 1, 2009. For regional nominations, the nominee and the nominating district both must be MSBA members in the respective region for which the nomination is placed.

In addition, the Board position representing K-8 districts statewide is up for re-election in 2009. Statewide K-8 Representative nominations may be made by the candidate's own K-8 Board of Education or any other K-8 member Board. The deadline is the same for other Board of Director nominations.
