On March 12, 2008, the Nominating Committee of the Missouri School Boards' Association convened in Columbia to interview candidates that had been nominated for MSBA statewide offices by MSBA member districts. Subsequent to the interviews and after careful consideration, it was the unanimous determination of the Nominating Committee to report and recommend to the MSBA general membership the following slate of officers for 2008 statewide MSBA offices:
For MSBA President-Paul Morris, Mt. Vernon R-V School DistrictFor MSBA President-Elect-Peggy Taylor, Nixa R-II School DistrictFor MSBA Vice President-Pat Momot, Farmington R-VII School District; andDave Wright, Blue Springs R-IV School DistrictFor MSBA Immediate Past President-Robin Krause, Knob Noster R-VIII School DistrictDuring the Delegate Assembly, delegates will have an opportunity to vote for the candidates for President-Elect and Vice President. Per MSBA Bylaws, the offices of President and Immediate Past President, respectively, are not presented as ballot options.
Governing documents of the Missouri School Boards' Association stipulate that a slate of statewide officers is to be recommended by the MSBA Nominating Committee to the MSBA general membership not less than seventy-five (75) days prior to the meeting of the Delegate Assembly at the annual MSBA Leadership Summit. The Delegate Assembly will next meet at the
2008 Leadership Summit on June 6 in Branson.
