The MSBA Board of Directors voted to support Proposition D on Tuesday’s ballot following action by the Delegate Assembly to adopt a position statement supporting an increase in Missouri’s motor fuel tax. Here’s a statement from MSBA President Mike Pratte on the issue: “The Missouri School Boards’ Association supports Proposition D on the November 6 ballot. School buses transport half a million Missouri students every school day. It’s critical that they travel on safe roads and bridges. We’re also concerned that if Proposition D fails, there will be increased pressure to fund the state’s transportation needs with general revenue, thus jeopardizing funding available for our public schools.”
