On November 6, 2018 Missouri voters approved a measure authorizing the possession and use of marijuana for medical purposes. Although the amendment is effective December 6, 2018, it will take time to implement the changes. The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services is charged with creating regulations to govern cultivation, manufacture, dispensing and sale of marijuana. MSBA will be monitoring the creation of these regulations, and, if given the chance, commenting on those that could adversely impact school districts.
